Dr. Daniel W. Edwards and his wife Eksha visited Estemere on 03 July 2007. Dan first came to Glen Park (an area near Palmer Lake) in 1947 with his family and has spent many summers here with his mother, Martha Edwards. Dan and Eksha are visiting Martha for the Fourth of July. Dan works in Washington D.C. and therefore has access to the Library of Congress, the U.S. Census rolls, and many other historical research opportunities. He became intrigued with Dr. William Finley Thompson, the original owner of The Estemere and the founder of Palmer Lake, several years ago and Dan has uncovered a significant amount of information about Dr. Thompson, including several technical articles on dentistry and a book of Dr. Thompson's published works. Dan hopes to have his research sufficiently completed by next year to publish a booklet on Dr. Thompson, perhaps under the auspices of the Palmer Lake Historical Society. Since so little is known about Dr. Thompson, and much of what we do know appears to be inaccurate, I look forward to Dan's final 'report'!!
